The 123 countries plan is aimed at round-the-world trips and unpredictable work schedules: on top of the Europe, North America, Gulf and South Asia mix of the smaller plans, it reaches into Latin America (Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, Peru, Ecuador), many Caribbean islands, East Africa (Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda) and also Nepal, Jordan and Mongolia.

It suits long-haul travellers crossing several continents, seafarers and international project staff, and Caribbean cruise passengers calling at a different island each day. Even so, Japan, South Korea, China, Thailand and Vietnam are not on the country list.

This plan covers the destinations listed below, as published in the plan information (121 in total). Check every stop on your route against the table before buying.

Please note: the plan name mentions 123 countries, while the published list has 121. If a destination you need is missing, ask Simtel before paying.

Choosing a data allowance

eSIM plans for 123 countries currently last 1 to 30 days and come in these types:

• Daily data (500MB, 1GB, 2GB and 3GB per day): suits a steady routine. Check when the daily allowance resets and what happens once it is used.
• Total data (3GB to 50GB): one allowance for the whole trip, handy when some days are heavier than others.
• Unlimited: always read the fair-use policy; after a set amount, speed may be reduced.

Suggestions for this trip

• Long multi-leg trips: 50GB of total data on a 30-day validity suits a month of constant border-hopping; if you will spend a month in just two or three countries, compare with single-country plans, which may match your needs more closely.
• Caribbean cruises or East African safaris: shore days and lodge days are light on data, so 500MB or 1GB a day covers messages and maps; big-city days use more, so for a mixed itinerary total data is more flexible.

Count your arrival and departure days. Before paying, check the exact plan for when validity starts, how days are counted, and whether hotspot, calls or SMS are included; these differ between plans.

Before you go

• Latin America: WhatsApp is the main way to reach hotels, drivers and guides; Uber and DiDi are widespread in the larger cities.
• East Africa: Bolt and Uber run in Nairobi and Dar es Salaam; locals pay mostly with mobile wallets, so visitors should bring a card and some cash.
• Cruises: Once the ship is at sea, onboard mobile service is the cruise line's own, billed separately; save heavy downloads for when you are in port.
• Check every port: Some Caribbean islands are on the list while their neighbours are not, so check each stop rather than the region name.
• eSIM setup: Before buying, make sure your phone supports eSIM and is not carrier-locked. Install the eSIM before you fly, on a stable Wi-Fi connection, following the instructions sent with your plan.
• On arrival: Set the travel eSIM as your mobile data line and follow its roaming instructions. Turn off data roaming on your home SIM to avoid unexpected charges.
